Balkans
The Balkans are shaped by their complex history and strong local identities. You see it in the architecture, in religion, in food, and in everyday conversations.
This region is a true meeting point of many different cultures — Ottoman influences and traces of the socialist past combine with distinct local traditions. In one journey, you move from Bosnia’s layered history to Montenegro’s sea and peaks, and Albania’s raw coastline and fast-changing cities.
The Balkans aren’t polished or oriented for tourism; they feel more direct. Travel here requires a bit more flexibility. But in return, you get bold landscapes, genuine local culture, and space to explore without feeling managed.
